A Photographic, Virtual Journal of My Sisterlocks Experience.
****This site is dedicated to my grandmother, Mrs. Grace Lovett (1912-2006)~~ My Inspiration for All Things Natural****
Greetings and thanks for taking the time to check out my blog, A Locking Story. My name is Katika and I have been wearing my hair in the Sisterlocks method of locking for the past two years. Prior to this, I was completely addicted to creamy crack but secretely in love with the natural texture of my hair. I’ve loved locks every since I was a little girl watching Whoopi Goldberg on TV. So, many years later I made the choice to lock my hair. October 2003, Alva Clemons (http://www.anaturalknockout.com) welcomed me into the world of Sisterlocks. I haven’t looked back since! Two years later and I know the best is yet to come.

I can never sit long enough for my hair to dry with the bantu knots. Your hair looks great! Also, your consultant was the first I visited back in '04...I was told my hair wouldn't lock because of the texture. Surprise, surprise...almost 3 years later and I have a head of locked hair.
I know how you feel. I have the flattest of the bunch. Have you tried the spike curlers? They give me a little volume. I also tried the perm rods recently and it gave me a nice bounce. Sort of like the Caruso curlers used to but they don't do anything for me now.
Gigi taught me how to tie my hair up without any pins. I have been experimenting with that and it can give you faux volume.
Your hair is awesome! It looked great at 2 months and even better now. I'm new to LHBE and I saw that you live in the ATlanta area. I'm a transplant from Brooklyn,NY. Can you recommend someone for my Sisterlock installation? I'm going in January and it would be much appreciated.

Hi,
Your locks look great! I am in the ATL also and looking for a few personal references in re-tightenings. Do you have any suggestions?

I'd say this style certainly gives you more volume. Very nice indeed!!!

Your attempt was great. Your hair is pretty styled or free.
Very beautiful!
got your email and tried to reply but it kept bouncing back.
The style turned out nicely, I'm hope mine will look a lot like yours. Ok, lock envy in effect...
Peace, your SDA Sister,

I love bantus!! The longer you leave em' in or perhaps get under the dryer, the better results. I like how they turned out on you. Cute!
