27 Months and Counting...

While at my mom's house this past weekend my sister snapped these pictures for me. To be quite honest its the first time in a long time that I've seen all sides of my big 'ole head in one shooting. And for the first time in a long time, I can truly say that I am happy with my hair. It makes me think about what everyone says when it comes to locks. "Locking is a journey" and "Locking is an exercise in patience "(how many times have you heard those?). But the truth of the matter is both of the sayings are true. So many times in my journey I simply ran out of patience (and have the damaged locks to prove it!) but finally I feel like I've made it to the other side. Just thought I'd share! Posted by Picasa

Wow! Your locks are beautiful!

What do you mean by losing patience and having damaged locks to prove it?

All angles look absolutely beautiful. I know what you mean
with that "p" word. Definitley a catch-22.

Thanks for your comments ladies!

Brusli- I'm going to do a post soon with the damaged locks I was referring to. Basically, I did a lot of combining of locks early on, only to have them taken down and a lot of cutting, shaping, etc.

Your locs look great. I would love to see some pictures from the beginning. Locing definitely requires patience. It is definitely worth the wait.

Thanks for this post. It's very reassuring. Seem like when I cross to a new phase with my locks there is somehting I don't like about them and I wish I could be a phase back. Since my hair has dropped and is thin, you can see through it more. I am hoping I will get over that. Patience huh!

I really love your locks!

My dear sister, those locks are mar-ve-lous! If only I can keep those scissors out of my head I can one day make it to where you are.

Thanks for the re-assuring post on my blog, month 15 huh? Eeks! I know I can, I know I can.....

Kai,
What's you email address, I wanted to respond to your last comment you left on my blog about "Mrs. King". Just in case I don't get it soon, I'll post it here.

Kia,
Yes, I most certainly did get the program and just to show you how crazy I am...I sat and watched with the service with program in hand checking off who finished like I was sitting right there with the congregation going...who's up next?

Thanks for your lovely responses ladies. You've all really helped me learn to love my hair a little bit more. Believe it or not, I was really contemplating starting over a few months ago. Thanks for the reassurance. Guess I'll hang in here a bit longer :-)
